Academic position: Associate Professor
Biographic Notes
John S. Sakellariou received the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005 from the University of Patras, Greece. He is faculty member in the department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics at the University of Patras, Greece and a member of the Stochastic Mechanical Systems and Automation Laboratory. He has also served on the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Thessaly, Thessaly, Greece (2007) and on the faculty of the Department of Financial and Management Engineering of the University of the Aegean, Chios, Greece (2006-2007). Dr. Sakellariou worked also as a Mechanical Engineer in the Research & Development department of the N. Maniatopoulos S.A. (Ideal Bikes) bicycle manufacturing industry (2008 – Feb 2011).
Dr. Sakellariou research interests are in the area of stochastic mechanical and aeronautical systems and structures, with emphasis on the estimation and dynamic identification, prediction, simulation, control and structural health monitoring of linear, nonlinear and complex of single and multiple equilibria mechanical systems. Dr. Sakellariou has long experience in the design of laboratory experiments as well as in experimental procedures with full size systems and structures in field.
Dr. Sakellariou research has been published various scientific articles in major international journals and conferences, chapters for international technical encyclopedias and technical reports. He is also a referee for many international journals and conferences such as the Mechanical Systems & Signal Processing, the Journal of Structural Health Monitoring, the International Journal of Control, the Journal of Sound and Vibration, the International Conference on Noise and Vibration Engineering, the European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring and others.
