Postgraduate Study Program | Design and Production

This course introduces selected technologies supporting and enhancing collaboration among members of a team. It falls within the scientific area known as “Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). The first part of the course attempts a review of these technologies, revealing their advantages and disadvantages. In addition, it covers a range of issues related to Open Collaboration and Web 2.0 environments. The second part of the course focuses on prominent collaboration processes, such as group decision making, collective knowledge management, argumentation and recommendation. The aim of the course is to make students familiar with modern cooperation technologies and practices, and to enable them develop skills towards the effective implementation and utilization of these technologies in modern business and organizational contexts.

Teaching is performed through lectures and presentations of CSCW technologies. Students undertake work in the context of a semester project, which aims at a better understanding of the curriculum and its practical application in a modern organization. In addition, students review and present selected articles elaborating a specific topic of the course. Students are evaluated on the basis of their performance in the abovementioned tasks.
